Peter Blacker,
Vice President of International and U.S. Hispanic Interactive Marketing
for America Online, Inc., oversees a dynamic team responsible for
extending existing AOL U.S. interactive marketing (IM) relationships
and building new advertising partners for the emerging U.S. Hispanic
and International marketplace. With the launch of the new Spanish
language service, AOL Latino, his team will strategically develop
and implement specialized campaigns to create new value for advertisers
wanting to reach the burgeoning U.S. Hispanic market.
Formerly, Blacker
was Vice President of Interactive Marketing for AOL Latin America.
In that role, Blacker created the IM Latin America team, developing
IM products for AOL services in Brazil,
Mexico, Puerto Rico and
Argentina and for AOL Latino
on the U.S. service.
Blacker has
a significant record of success in international cable TV and the
Internet, including the launch of CBS Telenoticias, the first Spanish 24/7 news network. Additionally,
Blacker was responsible for the launch of Star Media's Global Partnership
Program, which included the development of the first international
interactive marketing programs for L'Oreal, Danone,
Bacardi, and Pepsi.
Currently, Blacker
is also Chairman of the Interactive Advertising Bureau's U.S. Hispanic
Marketing & Education Committee. This group is responsible for
uniting key U.S. Hispanic Web portals, publishers, and research
groups into a strategic team that will grow U.S. Hispanic online
advertising market.
A native New
Yorker, Blacker has lived and worked in Argentina,
Brazil, Chile
and Spain, and is
fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. He is a graduate of
Cornell University with a focus in International Marketing.
